What do you mean by Transformer?

Transformer is the static machine which is used to step down and step up AC voltage. While changing the voltage electrical power remains unchanged so while increasing the voltage current decrease and while decreasing the voltage, current increase.

It work in the principle of Faraday law of electromagnetic induction in which induced emf is directly proportional to the rate of change of flux.

Parts of transformer

  •       Conservation tank

  •       Main tank
  •       Drain off
  •       Core
  •       Winding
  •       Buccholz relay
  •       Cooling tubes

Working principle of the transformer

Transformer has mainly two parts one is core and next one is winding where there are two winding which are primary and secondary winding. When the power of the certain voltage is given or connected with primary winding there in primary winding electromagnetic flux forms and that electromagnetic flux goes through the iron core and get linked to the secondary core and there the emf induced in the secondary coil as per the Faraday law of electromagnetic induction.
